UCCNC User Interface Slow
An interesting UCCNC issue. I’ve been running UCCNC (version 1.0034) on my Toshiba R930 laptop (i5-3340M CPU @ 2.70GHz, 4G RAM Windows 7 32bit) with my S840 for 2 years now. Works fine.
I’ve had to replace my laptop with another machine, a Toshiba R30-A (i5-4210M 2.6GHz processor, 4G RAM Windows 7 32 bit). I used the new install USB with UCCNC version 1.1019. Software installs OK and recognises my UC100 adapter and my S840 seems to work fine.
When I load a G-code file (one I have used before on my old machine, so I know it works) and run the code, the UCCNC UI seems to lag behind the machine and is stilted (not smooth like my old setup).
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to fix it? Is it an OpenGL issue in Windows?
Latest version is 1.2026
Download and install it:

Does anyone the Stepcraft install USB for version 1.2026? I only have the install USB for version 1.1027.

Do you mean updating the UC100? It will auto-update when you install the new version.
Also, this:
Migrating from version 1.0xxx to 1.1xxx, 1.0xxx to 1.2xxx or 1.1xxx to 1.2xxx
Using an older major-version machine profile with a newer major software version is not recommended, we advice to create a new machine profile with the new major-version release when starting the work with the new software version. Also because there are many differences between the different major-versions of the software we advice to first install the new version into a different folder on the computer keeping the old version alive until the new version will be setup and running.

up to 1.1 its flash
1.2XXX is Open GL... much faster to respond.
Do you mean updating the UC100> No. I understand that the UC100 firmware is updated when the UC100 isconnected to my laptop with a different version of UCCNC.
What I am referring to is when I installed UCCNC version 1.1x I was givena USB stick with the install exe and all the associated files. Is there a Stepcraft specific version of this for 1.2? The reason I ask is when I have tried to install UCCNC ver 1.2 over my UCCNC version 1.1 installation I get an error.
Try asking stepcraft stuff about that. But I use the non-stepcraft version just fine.

@Rory, are you sure version 1.2x is flash free??? I have had some issues today after installing a "Security Update for Flash player" on a Windows 10 machine.

Hi, I have same problem.
When I start UCCNC, thats UI is very fast and smooth. However, load some nc file, then thats UI is very slow.
I try already update for UCCNC and uninstall "Security Update for Flash player" security update.
Software version: 1.2037
Firmware version 3.0110
Hardware version:2.0000
API version: 2.1140
Serial number: 90094C
Device type: UC100
What is that I have then need to do is?
Additional information:
When UI is slow, push the CLOSE FILE button, then UI is very fast. And sometimes, open the different nc file, that problem does not occur.
Does your PC have Windows 10, and integrated graphics?
If so, this is a known issue with the latest Windows 10 update.

I will try to find bad update programs.
thank you.
From CNC Drive on their forum....
Yes, unfortunately Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4013429 which was released a few weeks ago in March 2017 is buggy and makes some Intel HD graphics cards (So far HD 4000 is known by us to have problems with this update) to not work properly with OpenGL.
If you search the update number you can find forum posts with the same problem, e.g. on the Google Sketchup site and on other software sites which using OpenGL.
The exact problem is that the OpenGL drawing slows down the application to an unusable level.Currently as far as we know there is no real workaround to resolve this other than to uninstall and disable the KB4013429 update.
Some instructions about how to do it is here: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to ... indows-10/

I had a similar problem with other software.
A possible solution can be if there is another video card installed for instance a Nvida (game) card.
Select in the Nvida configuration screen > 3D setting control. In the right screen select tab programm setting and add your Uccnc program in that list. Leave the rest to default (automatic).
This could solve your problem with openGL and Intel graphic card.
