Hello,

I'm a noob in CNC, and I'm starting with a Stepcraft-2 420 with UCCNC.

My problem is about the size of the units, if I move in uccnc 10 units, my stepcraft moves about 15 mm, of course te limits of the machine are wrong.

which is not the correct way to fix this or what the problem is, I have done the calibration of the axes and changed the "steps per unit" from 200 to 133.333 and it seems it's ok, but i read the correct value is 200, I think this is not the solution and that there something wrong

someone could know whats is going

Hello Didac,

your problem is probably the configuration of the parameter 'Distance/rotation'. Old Stepcrafts had 2 mm/rotation, the new Stepcraft-2 needs 3 mm/rotation. This is exact the factor 1.5, like the difference of your sizes.

Greetings
Thomas

Sorry, I don't know UCCNC, I work with LinucCNC. But all programs have to configure this value, because it is different by each CNC machine. In LinuxCNC, the parameter is called 'Leadscrew pitch'. It exists for X,Y and Z axis.

EDIT: If you don't have this parameter, 'steps per unit' is the only way, to correct the difference. May be, that this is the right way in UCCNC.

Maybe you are using the wrong or old Default
UCCNC profile. Here is mine: Profile
