Is there a good guide how to use uccnc with stepcraft? And which export file do I need to use in cut2d?

Hi

Use the .DXF output format - this imports straight into UCCNC.

The basic UCCNC software can be downloaded for free and run in simulation mode. The UC100 controller comes with a license file which is recognised by UCCNC and sets up communication with the controller. All the basic operations are very obvious on the opening screen and these will be common to most small CNC machines.

What makes it special to the Stepcraft is the configuration file which defines mechanical and electrical parameters such as steps/unit(mm), maximum stepping speed, acceleration, soft limits etc.

Almost all the information you may need is on the UCCNC website.

Peter

SC 420/2, Industrial VFD spindle from StoneyCNC
UC100 + UCCNC
Cut2D, Autosketch10, Draftsight, Eagle 9.5.1

There is no problem, however simple, that cannot be made more complicated by thinking about it.

If I disconnect the Stepcraft from my computer and then start Win PC NC Starter, I CAN load *.nc files from Cut2D into WinPC-NC. But then the application operates in the demo mode and won't conect to the router on plugging in the router cable afterwards. In short: Win PC NC CAN read *.nc data but the Starter version lacks the licence to do so when connected to the Stepcraft.
The Cut2D manual states that some routers can directly be driven from Cut2D IF the right driver is present on the PC.
I have not yet tried to do so on my machine.

No chance that you can drive the win pc USB module from cut2d!
It comes as a bundle and is build/programmed by Mr. Lewetz. Its proprietary communication and each company trying to reverse engineer is begging for a lawsuit.

I asked Stepcraft since they promote the Cut 2D software.
They confirm that you won't be able to drive the router from Cut 2D.
They also say:
"you have to use the right post prozessor…….it could be WinPC-NC or MACH3. Than the WinPC-NC accept the data format of G-Code."

Hello every one. I'm using the Cut 2D desktop edition and my CNC program is UCCNC. I am having some difficulty to align the design tool path that i created with Cut 2D with my actual workarea.

cheers

Check this pdf: https://www.stepcraft-systems.com/images/Service/EN-First-Steps-UCCNC-v2.pdf

It shows everything to start cutting pieces with UCCNC.

Check step 3.3
