StepCraft S300 XML Profile for Mach3?
Bonjour,
I am French I have S300 machine using with Mach3 but unable to configure it correctly
I understand there is XML Profile available for software Mach3 I am unable to find and French dealer does not have it.
Please can someone tell me where to get it?
Thank you
its only availible if sombody did it bevor from stepcraft there are no mach3 profil es there.
If not you habe to do it by your own.i also did it by my own for the 420.
but you only need the technische description from the manual and the pin numbers.then you have to do it step by step. here you find it for the 420 you only have to fit the Ranges

S420 profile works with S300 but work area S300 is smaller so different parameters.
I do not know where to change this

You can change it in Config/Homing/Limits
I have 600 and got a 420 file which I updated to 600 (or 2.. less not to run into the switches)
But be careful, you also need to adopt other things like your Spindle or tool measurement if you have one!

I think all is working.
I test with a pen instead of spindle
The file object is 40mm long but machine draws it at 8mm long
What is wrong?
maybe the pitch of the achses. tage the technical Information and Company it to the valides in the mach config windows
or maybe the Unit inch vs mm

I rewrite G Code G20 (Inches) and image draws very big
I rewrite G Code G21 (mm) and image draws very small (too small)
Maybe the file did not convert to .tap very good
Check first in manual mode.
I don't know what native units you have, (Config/Select Native Units).
This should be your base to test. For example for me it's mm and you can put a ruler on the desk, move with the spindle close to a starting point, set x/y zero and then jog for let's say 10cm and see if the display shows the 100mm (=10cm) distance. If this is not the case something in Config/Motor Tuning is wrong.
Of course, you can do that in all directions.
I never needed to use G20 & G21 manually so far!
All my CAM programs select it usually themself depending on output or CAM settings and you should use always what is the same you have set in the native units.
You cannot change a G-Code-file from one to another by changing G20G21!
If there is no G20/G21 then Mach just will use the internal units, but cannot convert.
At least this seems to be my experience.

maybe your dxf for Generation the code have q wrong size
you Do not have aktivater scaling on mach3 or g code
Set 000 and then Type g1 x100 and tage a look if its right

I found a test ruler here: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1223
It did the exact size, so everything must be fine except my other file go wrong in conversion
So much to learn and take in
