Perpetuum mobile (not really working though)
Because my daughter is very interested by a certain perpetuum mobile that I watched on youtube, I decided to make something similar for her. A lot of work, and dust too, and at the end, the machine was made, but not really working.
Today, I've added some extra weights to the "hammers" and installed double bearings to the wheel, but in vain.
I know most of the perpetuum mobiles are not really working, or not forever that is, but I was hoping for an autonome movement for at least a minute or so. I could go further with it, but I call it a day....
Well, my daughter is happy and playing with it, so that's what counts.

I made several files during the process, a lot of changes afterwards etc.
So I don't have a proper dxf file for it.
And... it doesn't work as it is anyway! 😆

None of them will work. Never! Mabe they run al log time. Maybe years. But at least they stop. You must reduce the energy loss by installing bearings (as you did) but it seems to be not enough.
The weight of the hammers will affect the moving time only by the moved mass in total. The more mass you move, the more energy you need to start, the longer it will turn. You can use a simple, verry heavy wheel instead. It may work better. But it doesn't look that good, of course.
I know it's a myth as stated in my previous posts, but if it could run for a few minutes, that would be amazing already.
I could indeed put more weights on the wheel, but I'll leave it as it is atm.
The issue with this model is that there're more hammers "waiting" at the left side than at the right, so it can't turn to the right as supposed.
Anyway, this perpetuum mobile is just a toy for my daughter because for some reason, she's amazed by the hammers (don't try to understand).

A myth? I don't think so! I have seen them working - nice and flawless - here my proof:

And I'm absolute confident that they will run for EVER!______________________
It's not only about tools it's also about skills! 😉
Haha: love the pedestal with a plastic cover on top of it in order to hide the real driving force. 😉
Also lovely how the edge of the wheel is going underneath the cover, probably to make contact with an electric motor.
