Puzzle and garden labels
I created a CNC version of a scrollsaw project on my SC600:
Vectors/toolpath created with VCarve Pro 7.5, cut with 3mm end mill (upcut) 900mm/min feed rate, 1mm pass.
Some of the detail was awkward to sand (I use an upcut bit so the edges are "fuzzy" until I give it a light rub with sandpaper) so I thought it would be a good idea to glue sandpaper to lollypop sticks. I had to buy a box of 1000, when I only needed a few dozen.
What to do with the 950+ spare lollypop sticks? Hmm. I have a CNC machine and lots of pieces of wood. Garden labels! To mark rows of carrots, onions, cabbage etc.
I didn't want to be setting up a job for each stick (particularly with clamping/zeroing issues), so I created a jig:
Again created with VCarve Pro 7.5, cut with with a 5mm end mill (the corner radius on the lolly sticks was 5.5mm)
Insert blank sticks (cross piece of wood to clamp, but I had to add a line of sellotape at the left due to vacuum lifting sticks):
And let rip with the SC! Again VCarve 7.5, with a 60degree V-bit, 6mm diameter.
Until all 20 in the jig have been done (about 10 minutes):
Finally, remove using the slot cut down at the right side of the jig:

Learning from mistakes until I become an expert!
Cool idea!
