Setting tool lengths with manual tool change

I have an M1000 with ATC but I can’t use the tool changer because the old tools are not reliably ejected. I want to set up the tool offsets table and manually change the tools between measurements. With the ATC off, the uccnc offsets button just repeats the measurements without pause with the same tool. How do I do this?
