As wrote in topic, 1 run today with brand new 420,,, got the XLM to Mach3 setup from my StepCraft dealer,,, it runs fine,,,,

XYZ manually keyboard arrows run/control, axis go all in direction they suppose to do.. and also in Mach3 RUN/gcode in Mach3...

My problem is G28 that Fusion insert in POST, IE G28 Z0,,, then the Z goes downwords into the table, in sted of up to Z homeswitch (((that should be 0 i think)))..

Fusion use G28 to raise Z to clear fixture before run in XY, ofc i can disable G28, but nice to be safe..

Any ide why 🙂

Your end switch for z-axis has to be set to zero. All of your working space is in negative values.

I can give you my 420 settings if you want.

Right. This is possibly wrong. Try max=0mm, min=-130mm, home=0mm

This is due to the strange G28 code. I also didn´t succeed to get it to the other end. It always goes to x=0, y=0, z=0 at the end of every job. Please find attached the settings of my 420/2. If you succeed to change the G28 code in your post processor to get the machine to x=0, y=420 and z=0 at the end of every job, I would really appreciate when you could tell me how to do it.

Best regards,
Ronald

G28 only tell to gotot machine 0.0.0 as i know,, the strange thing for me is cant get Mach3 offset/Softlimits to accept Y=0 is left back corner 🙂

Oh, you´re totally right. I never thought about this problem this way, but we can also do it this way. We are totally free to choose the origin of our machine coordinate system. Actually, I have the following settings.

X-Axis: Soft Max=295.5mm, Soft Min=0mm, Home Off.=0mm
Y-Axis: Soft Max=418mm, Soft Min=0mm, Home Off.=418mm
Z-Axis: Soft Max=0mm, Soft Min=-138mm, Home Off.=0mm

If we want the machine to go to the upper left corner, when going to zero, we have to tell Mach3 that all the end switches are at zero position. In my case, the settings must be the following ones (not tested yet):

X-Axis: Soft Max=295.5mm, Soft Min=0mm, Home Off.=0mm
Y-Axis: Soft Max=0mm, Soft Min=-418mm, Home Off.=0mm
Z-Axis: Soft Max=0mm, Soft Min=-138mm, Home Off.=0mm

So you only have to set the home position for the Y-Axis and the Soft Max for the Y-Axis to zero and the Soft Min to -418mm or what ever you actually have at Soft Max.

Give it a try and let me know the results.

I will test it tomorrow.

Best regards,
Ronald

So i testet some...

X= max=299,0,,,,,Min=0,0,,,,,,,Off=0,0
y= max=418,0,,,,,Min=0,0,,,,,,,Off=418,0
X= max=130,0,,,,,Min=0,0,,,,,,,Off=130,0

Homing and soft endstop and slowdown zone works great..

If i put in G28=0 it goes down to the bed..

If i reverse Y ---Max=0,0 Min=-130 Off=130 then G28=0 works, it goes up
But then Softlimits give me warning and wont run..

You don't want the machine to go down after a job. That's dangerous for workpiece and mill.
If you want the machine to go to the upper left corner in the back all home switches must be zero.

Try the following settings.

X= max=299,0,,,,,Min=0,0,,,,,,,Off=0,0
y= max=0,,,,,Min=-418,,,,,,,Off=0
Z= max=0,,,,,Min=-130,,,,,,,Off=0

Ronald
