Hey Forum,

I have got a strange problem with my Stepcraft2 840.

When I am testing the pathway (even without milling something), the Z-Axis is wandering upwards until it reaches the limit switch.
In the Software (UCCNC) everything looks right. I think this happens because it does not come down everytime as much as it should. So after some seconds going up and down the "pathway" it reaches the top limitswitch of the z-axis.

What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice,
Nico

Most likely lost steps in Z axis?

Go to

>>config

>>axis setup

>>Z axis

>>Velocity

>>Change to 4000 or 5000

>>acceleration 350

>>apply settings

>>text Z axis with shift key. Z axis should travel okay at 4000-5000mm/min. This verifies the mechanical operation is okay and free...

>>make sure you revert back to the previous value e.g 3000 or 2800 from before the test for the max velocity.
