Welcome to both of you.

Now that you have a CNC, what are your plans for it's usage? Did you buy the pre-assembled or the DIY version?

I got the ready version 420,, for me it just about learn CAM and get it out into reality with help from the 420, but 100% fun and interest... a bit much for 'fun' but it think it is worth it, got the Kress 1050 fme1, have yet to test it,, and really the 420 to, only have one cut yet, 4 holes, kinda wanne make a dust shoe before really try the Kress with 2-3mm dept and 300 mm feed in wood, just to se if the ,,let say minor stepper can 'cut' it 🙂

Yess ... do it! ;o) DIY is good, because you have to learn how to disassemble and reassemble anyways.

I bought mine with no real application in mind and it's fun! For entry level, the SC is perfect. Probably it will not be the last machine, but it will always be the first.
Still have to do some tuning on my SC - removing backlash, adding a brushless spindle. ... want to have a 3d probe (currently in design phase) ...
Next machine to come will be a 3d printer ;o)

Well,,, now i am unhappy,, since Stepcraft sell Kres on there website i assume 420D could run with one,,, but ffs, my 420 can raise the motor...

That was a wasted 200 pund 🙂

BUT what should i use for spindle then, the HF500 is out of my reach....
