Long reach single flute for foam cutting

Hello,

I've been looking at this function but it doesn't look like it's possible to do this with vcarve desktop when designing in 2.5 D ?
Or am I wrong ?

Hello Bart,

You can convert 2/2,5 D to 3D model. to achieve this draw your desired shape as usual, then you select the modeling tab.
Select the first icon on the top left corner "Create shape", see photo.

After closing you see a Component tree left on your screen select "Component 1" by double clicking.

Now change Shape height to your desired cutting depth and close.

Next go to Toolpath tab on the right side and select "3D Roughing path" (lower left corner), make your choice in mill bit and push Calculate.

Now you have your 2D covert in 3D.
But for simple tasks the pocket function is faster, than you stay in 2,5D

Can you share your tool, speeds and other relevant setting. I tried foam cutting a while back. But the result wat not nearly that good.
