Hello
sorry if this is in the wrong section as i cant post on the english forum and i don't speak german! 🙂

i was going to get a chinese cnc router until came across your one.
what i need it to do is cut small shapes from 1050 grade aluminium about 1.5mm thick.
stuff like this:
http://www.firemountaingems.com/shopping.asp?skw=KWSTAMPINGBLANK
and
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Metal-Blanks-20-Gauge-Hearts-for-Hand-Stamped-Jewelry-20mm-/160996392577

is this possible with one of your machines to cut a low grade softer aluminium? would the hot cutter cut through a low grade aluminium?

i look forward to your reply

thanks james from scotland

Hey James,

nice to meet you here.

You´ve asked about cutting low grade aluminium with a hot cutter.

Sorry but this will be impossible with this tool.
You need to fix the aluminium shapes with some kind of double sided glue tape.
Then you had to use a small milling cutter to cut through the aluminium shape.

The machines from Stepcraft will be able to do this for you.

Kind regards
Christian

From what i can make out, router cnc machines do not like to cut soft thin aluminium like 1050 grade? it just melts and tares it?
thanks

Hey James,

If it melts and tares, the milling speed is to high. Slow down your speed. otherwise you have to cool it with water .

Kind regards
Christian

for these small pieces you need only a few drops of water.

Some kind of injection with a small needle will be perfect.
