Z axis stop turn.
The Z axis stoped turning suddenly.
My first thought was that any screw has loosened on the axel, but no.
I´m using UCCNC and when I "quick jog" shift+jog it turn for some reason.
Could it depend on any of the three cables that have gone off?

The motor has no power, and I can stop it with my fingers without any problems.
No one has any idea what it might be wrong ???

Hi Mikath,
It looks very much as though only one of the two stepper coils is being driven. Three possibilities for this situstion :-
1) Fractured wire or loose connection in the wiring loom. (Most likely)
2) Open circuit winding inside stepper motor. (Not very likely - low resistance and thick wire)
3) Faulty stepper driver chip. (Unlikely for only one channel to fail - usually all or nothing)
Given that it is likely to be a fractured wire, I guess you will have hours of fun unwiring the gantry. 👿

There is no problem, however simple, that cannot be made more complicated by thinking about it.
Thanks for your reply.
Initially, I'll try to change the X or Y axis to Z to see that there is no error on the PCB.
My fear is to rewire the gantry... 🙁

One other thing I noticed is that the motor has a very high frequency of noise, the other motorss are completely silent.

Now I have changed the X motor to Z on the PCB and it work like a charm.
I think it´s a fractured wire.

Hi Mika,
Glad you've probably found the problem.
Don't envy you having to unwire the gantry to find the culprit. Good luck!
Peter.

I cut the cables and replaced with new ones and now all the axis work.
It does not look so nice at the moment, but I can fix it when I have new parts.
